Working Principle
I. Transmission System Structure
The drum screen uses a three-stage transmission system engine-gearbox-drum, where the gearbox and drum assembly are rigidly connected through a high-precision coupling, driving the drum assembly to rotate smoothly around its central axis, forming a stable and reliable power transmission chain.
II. Main Working Mechanism
1. Power Transmission Process
- The engine provides the primary power
- Gearbox reduces speed and increases torque, delivering stable revolutions
- Coupling accurately transmits torque, causing the drum to rotate continuously
- The drum rotates at a set speed (usually 8-25 rpm) evenly
2. Material Movement and Screening Process
First Stage: Loading and Preliminary Stratification
Material enters from the loading end into the inclined drum (inclination angle 5°-15°), and under the combined action of gravity and centrifugal force, a tumbling motion begins.
Second Stage: Continuous Screening
- Screening of fine particles: Material smaller than the hole size passes through the holes during tumbling and is continuously discharged through the fine fraction outlet at the bottom of the drum.
- Transport of coarse particles: Material larger than the hole size continues to tumble on the screening surface, gradually moving in the axial direction of the drum.
Third Stage: Discharge of Coarse Fraction
Unscreened coarse material continues to move forward with the drum rotation and is eventually discharged through the coarse fraction outlet at the end of the drum, completing the entire screening process.
III. Operating Characteristics
1. Inclined Rotational Design
- The drum is installed at an incline, combining its own weight with rotational action
- Material is automatically transported forward without additional pushing force
- Screening and transportation are performed simultaneously, with high efficiency
